Public transport

To move around Ústí nad Labem efficiently, you should use the public transport system. To use the public transport you need a ticket. 

The most efficient way is to send an SMS ticket, you get by sending a message to a number 90206 in a form MDJ (lasts 60 minutes) / MDJ80 (lasts for 1 day) / MDJ40 (lasts for one day, student card is required)! 

If you are planning to stay for a while, you might consider buying monthly ticket at the local public transport office. The local public transport office, where you can buy monthly tickets is located in Revoluční 26, 401 11, Ústí nad Labem. Visit it every weekday from 6:00 to 18:00 or on saturday from 7:00 to 12:00.
Also don't forget to bring along a "confirmation of being a student" that you get at university at student administration office. 
Monthly ticket will allow you to use the public transport freely, all the time so it is definitely worth it.
If you have a students card, it cost 133 kč (5,1 € / 5,8 $), if not it costs 535 (20,6 € / 23,4 $). 

You should remember that the buses 52 and 11 will take you the basic route - from Mírové square to university - station Kampus.

We should definitely mention that from the usti train station, you can get directly to Prague, the capital city of the czech republic, where you will find everything the Ústí doesn't offer.
